United Fund of Globe-Miami, Inc. successfully celebrated 55 years of connecting local charities and donors on Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Bullion Plaza Gym.

From 1964 when it invested a total of $11.074.50 in five local charities to today – investing more than $700,000 in 41 local charitable programs and projects – United Fund consistently achieves its mission: Connecting local charities and donors to strategically elevate the Globe-Miami community.

The talented team of BellaLina Creations and Event Planning paired with Monika & Megan Sneezy to transform the venue into a Studio 54 themed night club complete with: light-up bar, white lounge furniture, and disco-ball décor.

Tanner Hunsaker of Western Reprographics provided logo design, ticket printing, table-tents, and program printing.

Miami Lions Club hosted the cash bar. Thank you: Matt Storms and Alexis Rivera.

Amazing chefs from Bloom Restaurant and Vida e Caffe made sure guests had energy to dance all night.

And dance they did!

11 talented musicians from AZ Groove Merchants provided a 50-song set that kept the dance floor full all night!

Local employers currently providing payroll-deduct options to their staff were all recognized with the Solid Gold Award. The awards were engraved by Tim at Bernie’s Awards and Trophies. Recipient employers are (alphabetically): APS, Capstone, City of Globe, Freeport-McMoRan, Gila County, Globe Unified School District.

The highlight of the evening: YES! Awards. United Fund Board President Linda Oddonetto captured the essence of the YES! Award recipients: “Visionary projects connect existing resources and needs to serve our community’s most important resource: PEOPLE!” Addressing major community needs – food security, safe environments, and youth programming – the YES! Award recipients are: Project ACE – All Children Eat, Gila Safe Haven / Alderman House, and Copper Cities Youth Sports.

None of this would have been possible without the generous support of event donors: Freeport-McMoRan, Capstone, APS, Gila County District 2 Supervisor Tim Humphrey, Gila County District 3 Supervisor Woody Cline, and 2019 Agency Sponsors: GILA House and Copper Cities Youth Sports!

United Fund expresses its sincerest thanks to its past and present board members, participating agencies, donors, supporters, volunteers, and each and every one of the evening’s guests. Together we are United Fund!
