UPDATE: This event, originally scheduled for Saturday, May 11, has been canceled.
May is the month for remembering and Saturday, May 11, Gila County will remember those fellow citizens who gave the final sacrifice in the performance of their duties.
Join us at 11 a.m. at the corner of Oak and Broad streets in downtown Globe for Gila County First Responders Commemoration Day.
Police, firefighters, EMTs, rescue, wildland fire crews, all who have and do risk their lives, and those who have given it, have earned a thank you from the communities they serve and protect.
The names of those who have fallen since the beginning of Gila County will be recalled and the men and women of the agencies throughout our county, who shall be present that day, will be celebrated.
The public is welcomed and encouraged to attend this event hosted by the Gila County Public Safety Memorial Board.
