Want to vote in the Presidential Preference Election next month? Gila County Recorder Sadie Jo Bingham reminds Gila County residents that next Tuesday, Feb. 18, is the deadline to register to vote in the 2020 Presidential Preference Election that will be held March 17.
“A new voter registration form must be completed by anyone who has moved and has a new address -- even if the move was simple as a new apartment number in the same complex. Have you married or divorced since the last time you cast a ballot? Voter registration needs to be updated if your name has changed since your most recent registration,” said Bingham. “This also applies if you’re a new Gila County resident, or want to change your party affiliation in order to participate in the Presidential Preference Election – which is specifically for candidates of the Democratic party, and open only to registered Democrats.”
Complete your own registration conveniently and online at servicearizona.com; voters may also download a form directly from the Secretary of State’s website azsos.gov. Voter who prefer to register in person will find helpful staff and the necessary forms at the Gila County Recorder’s offices in both Globe and Payson; at all post offices and public libraries, also at political party headquarters and city/town halls.
