The San Carlos Apache Tribes San Carlos SWFF Type 2 IA Crew and the SWFF staff were able to purchase much needed equipment. With the help of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, the San Carlos Natural Resource Committee and the San Carlos Forester Dee Randall, SWFF staff applied and received some generous grant funding which helped fund new Mystery Ranch Packs, new fire shelters and much needed equipment for their crew members to utilize while fighting fire. The SWFF program is a non-profit program and very thankful for the new equipment funding to keep their tribal members and non member crews safe. So many people had a hand in ensuring the safety of our Wildland fire fighters. It’s with our greatest appreciation that we say thank you to the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community.
