Charles “Charlie” Alan McAfoose, 51, died as a result of cancer on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020 in Chandler, Ariz. He was born on Jan. 25, 1969 in Phoenix, Ariz. to Anita R. McAfoose (deceased) and Leon D. McAfoose. He attended Globe High School in Globe, Ariz., and Westwood High School in Mesa, Ariz.

He worked at Bashas Grocery Store, Circle K, and various restaurants. However, his diagnosis of mental illness rendered him disabled.

Charlie enjoyed swimming, bike riding, fishing, hunting, and relaxing at home. A quiet person, he preferred small-town life in Globe, Ariz., and, recently, Springerville, Ariz. Simple pleasures like hand-rolled cigarettes, candy bars, and Mexican food made him happy.

He is survived by his father Leon D. McAfoose, his sister Xina M. Uhl (David), niece Brandy Bolinger (Matt), grand-nephews Daniel, Luke, and Samuel, and grand-niece Michaela.

A graveside service will be held on Feb. 14, 2020 at 1 p.m. at the Globe Cemetery off Hackney Road.
