Dorothy Lou Bixby (Dot), passed away peacefully on April 30, 2022, at Hospice Compassus in Payson, Arizona. She was 87 years old. Dorothy was born in Eden, Arizona, a newly established Mormon community, on Nov. 11, 1934, to Ila Packer and Rulon Fuller, who were devout Mormons.
She was a life-long Arizonian. After graduating from Globe High School, she married Buster Points and had two children, Debbie and Niki. After her divorce from Buster, she married Jim Alberts. While raising her two girls in Globe, Arizona, she worked at First National Bank of Arizona. After her divorce from Jim Alberts, she married Stephen L. Bixby, Jr. in 1982.
Dorothy and Steve raised their daughter Rusti on Bixby Ranch in Wheatfields and after selling the ranch in 1988 they moved to Pinetop, Arizona. After leaving Pinetop they traveled the country with their RV, having the time of their lives. In 2008, Dorothy and Steve bought property in Tonto Basin, Arizona where they happily spent their retirement years, playing cards first thing every morning.
Dorothy was a lifetime and active member of the Gila County Cowbelles. Dorothy loved her family and her grandchildren have fond memories of her, especially her loving sweet treats. She adored her friends and all who knew her considered her one of a kind.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters Debbie Alred (Bill), Niki Williams, and Rusti Bixby and her stepdaughters Kelli Bixby Bays, Stephanie Bixby Lynam, and Linda Bixby.
Dorothy and Steve have 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Dorothy is also survived by her sisters-in-law Patricia Moase, Anne Bixby, Sally Sturdevant, Elizabeth Voelker, Susan Halford, and Donna Setka Shirlaw and seven nieces, one nephew, three great-nephews, and one great-niece.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Steve, a nephew, and three great-nephews.
A celebration of life memorial will be held at a future date for her and Steve together as per their request.
