John Henry “Johnny” Dodd passed away peacefully on Sept. 23, 2022 at Heritage Health Care Center in Globe, Az. A lifelong resident of Globe, John was born in Houston, Texas on May 21, 1952; there he was adopted by his loving parents Charles and Rosalee Dodd. After high school, John joined the United States Navy and served a total of four years. He was so proud to be in the U.S. Navy. During his time in the military, he met the love of his life overseas and married Prudencia Rhoda Zamora in Manila, Philippines. John and Rhoda were married for over 30 years and had three beautiful children, Virgilio, Christine and Lori.

John was a man of many trades as he worked at the mine, in the food industry and even at the car wash. In his younger years he loved being a volunteer firefighter for Tri-City Fire Dept. He was a great friend, a loyal and loving husband, and a great papa to his grandchildren. Besides his family, his greatest passions in life were working on cars, fishing, trapping, cooking outdoors and helping on BB’s Ranch. He loved working in his best friend Clyde Elmer’s (Gator) shop where he earned the nickname “Ether.”

John was preceded into death by his father, Charles Dodd, and his wife Prudencia Rhoda Dodd. He is survived by his mother, Rosalee Dodd, his children Virgilio Dodd, Christine (Chuck) Durbin and Lori Dodd, his brothers Dennis (Patricia) Dodd and Charles (Marlena) Dodd, his sisters Sharon Warren, Debbie (Harvey) Delos Reyes, Faye Brinegar and Mary (David) Russell, his longtime best friend Clyde Elmer, his grandchildren Alyssa, Kelsey, Bryce, Seth and Apache, his great-grandchildren Urijah and Annalayah, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the American Legion, 645 S. Broad St., Globe, Az.
