Phil was born on Nov. 26, 1959. He grew up and attended school in Miami, graduating from Miami High in 1977. Shortly after graduating Phil enlisted in the Army, did his boot camp at Fort Dix and was stationed in Germany, where he was an electronic repair technician. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1980.

Shortly aft er his discharge he gained employment at Pinto Valley Mine. Starting as a laborer in the mill, he moved on to the open pit as a haul truck driver, then later was a water truck driver. Aft er Pinto Valley closed in 1998, Phil worked at various jobs through Jalin Enterprises until being hired at ASARCO in 2000; he worked there until his passing.

Phil enjoyed reading, metal detecting, watching older movies and listening to music. He would socialize by going out to eat. He was a kind and generous man, and enjoyed helping others. He had a lot of knowledge about herbs and vitamins and would help people with what ailed them by buying them herbs and vitamins.

Phil was preceded in death by his father Philip DeMario Sr., mother Martha Brooks and sister Beverly DeMario. He is survived by brother Tim DeMario.

Celebration of Life Services will be held May 17 at 10:30 a.m., at Living Waters Church, 125 Haskins Rd. in Globe. A potluck luncheon will follow.
