Raymond “Ray” Ramos, 66, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Dec. 1, 2018 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side.

Ray was born in Globe on July 10, 1952 to Justin and Josephine Sanchez-Ramos. He graduated from Globe High School and lived his life proud as a “Tiger.” In August of 1972 he met who would ultimately be the love of his life, Sandra Kay. They were married April 24, 1980 and had five beautiful children, Joseph, Cherron, DeziRae, Jason and Alisha. Ray adored his children and took much pride in all their accomplishments. Ray was their biggest supporter, whether it was school or sports, but also their strongest critic. He wanted nothing more for his children to succeed but also to make sure they gave everything 110 percent effort.

Ray loved his small town of Globe, with the closeness of his family, friends and the great community that surrounded him. He spent almost 40 years as a miner/heavy equipment operator working the copper mines in and around the Globe-Miami area. He was an extremely hard worker with a work ethic passed onto and expressed through his children today. When Ray was not hard at work, he was doing what he loved most, spending time with his family, his grandchildren or fishing at the Salt River.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Sandra Kay; sons Joseph and Jason Ramos; daughters, Cherron Alonzo (Vincent), Dezi-Rae Goss (Christopher), and Alisha Ramos; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Pat (Francis), Johnny (Bea), Richard (Kateri); sisters, Hortencia, Eleanor, Mary (Larry), Isabel (Ray), Sally (Salvador) and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents Justin and Josephine; brothers Paul, Daniel “Danny, Albert, Joseph “Joe” and sister Margie.

Ray was loved dearly as a husband, father, Tata, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. His humor, loyalty and unconditional love will be greatly missed by many.

Ray’s grandchildren – his pride and joy Jayden, Jaycob and Leeyah Goss-Joseph and Adrian Ramos-Daniel Paul and Devyan Ramos-Asyanna and Aubryella Alonzo-D’Glayne Giberti.

Services were Dec. 8, 2018 held at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Globe on Dec. 8, 2018
