Robert “Bob” Edward Thomas

Bob Thomas passed away at the age of 73 in Mesa, Az. on Oct. 28, 2021. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on April 2, 1948. At age 12 in 1960 he moved to Phoenix, Az. with his family, then on to Bagdad, Az. and Globe, Az. as well as some years in the L.A. area.

Bob served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a point man in the infantry. He received both the Bronze and Silver Star medals from his time served.

Bob is survived by his siblings Harry R. Thomas, Janet C. Lucero of Globe, and Tina M. Thomas-Boltz of Vancouver, Wa.; his daughter Amber Testa of Apache Junction; his son Bobby Thomas and stepson Eric Benesch; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Harry E. and Mary Thomas of Globe and siblings Jennifer Hauser of Ca. and Michael J. Thomas of Apache Junction.

Bob was a one of a kind man and will be missed by all who loved him or those fortunate to know him and his unique spirit.

Visitation is on Nov. 17, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Services will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the V.A. National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 North Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, Az.
