William Noel Norman, age 72, passed away at his home in Tucson, Arizona on November 16th, 2017. He was born to William Norman and Elsbeth Norman on October 26th, 1946 in Globe, Arizona. He attended Globe High School.

Bill enjoyed many years of shameless victories with his family members over endless games of Boggle, Maxi and Cribbage.

He was thoughtful and generous during the holidays when it came to spoiling people with gifts and won many hearts with his blue eyes and charming smile.

He was a successful freelance writer and enjoyed outdoor excursions that would take him to abandoned airplane hangars and remote canyons.

Bill was at his best when he was outdoors with his favorite camera and camping gear. His other true love was the Grand Canyon which he proudly endeavored to cross Rim to Rim to Rim countless times throughout his life.

During the last several years of his life he reached out to two of his nieces, Jazlee and Ember Crowley, and formed a strong, loving bond with them. His message to them a week before his passing was, “Your Unk Bill loves you all the most.”

Bill served as Marine Lance Corporal with the Third Battalion, Fourth Marine Regiment, Third Marine Division, “K” Company, the most highly decorated unit, in Vietnam. Bill spoke of his time in the war and was proud to have served his country where he earned several medals including three Purple Hearts.

He is survived by his sister, June Norman, and his brother, Donald Norman.

At his request, no service will be held.
