Aurora Jimenez Herrera (Boli), born April 25 to Maria and Francisco Jimenez, passed peacefully with her family on Feb. 21, 2023. She was born and raised in Miami, Az. She was the third child of seven, with two sisters and four brothers.
Thanks to her brother Frank, she met her soulmate Ernesto Herrera and they wed on Jan. 15, 1955. They built their life together in Miami. He worked in the mines; she managed the household and raised their four children, Ernesto Jr., George, Aurora and Linda.
The driving force of her life centered around her Catholic faith. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Miami her whole life. Boli faithfully attended Mass and prayed the Rosary; when she could no longer attend in person she still watched daily!
You would consistently find her grandchildren spending countless hours with their Nana and Tata. Her loving and generous nature was evident to family, friends and strangers alike. Everyone was welcomed and loved by Boli; even animals, as she loved her little dogs and hummingbirds.
Her love of crocheting continued her whole life and she donated hundreds of beanies and booties to the elderly and babies. Boli was recognized by Phoenix Children’s Hospital and by the well-known yarn company Red Heart for her humanitarian work for her unwavering generosity, dedication and selflessness.
She was reunited in heaven at last with her honey, Ernesto and her boys, Ernie and George. She will be missed by the rest of us every single day: siblings Freddy and Polly Jimenez; children Dave and Aurora Ramirez, and Joe and Linda Soto; grandchildren Jacqueline Herrera, Joseph and Monica Herrera, Stephen and Jenica Maas, Erika Ramirez, Ernie Herrera, George and Angie Herrera, Jonathan Herrera, Jacob Ramirez, Zachary Ramirez, Ben Soto, Jordan Rothschild, Morgann and Max Mahoney, and Ryan Morris; great-grandchildren Micaela, Gabriella, Delilah, Bella, Thomas, Alyson, Kori, Breea, Chloe, Daisy, Eva, Frannie, Joshua, Maleah, Bailey, Jayla, Murphy and Marlowe; and countless other relatives and friends.
