Benito Eylicio

Benito (Benny) Eylicio, a proud veteran of the United States Army, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his father Benito Eylicio, mother Ysabel Eylicio, brother Frank (Frankie) Eylicio, and sisters Jenny Saenz and Carmen Eylicio.

Benny is survived by his loving wife, Doreen Eylicio; his caring sister Ruth Loya; his children Valerie Eylicio, Gabriel (Sandra) Eylicio, Angie (Ray) Medina and Adrian Eylicio; and his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Benny grew up in Globe, Arizona. He was born on Nov. 26, 1946. He graduated from Garfield High School in California.

At the age of 16, Benny enlisted in the Army. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Private SP/4. As part of this service, he was deployed in Vietnam from 1965 to 1971. During his military service, Benny received the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal.

After his term in the military, Benny started his career in mining as a general laborer until he gained his apprenticeship as a pipefitter/welder. He worked at Inspiration Copper, Asarco and BHP Billiton during his mining career.

A private celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
