Former Globe resident Marc Marin has self-published a book about his experiences in the United States Army.

Marin served as the publisher of the Arizona Silver Belt from 2008 to 2017, and also as the publisher of the Copper Country News from 2010 to 2017. He then taught English and Journalism at Miami High School from 2017 to 2023.

Titled “Resonance,” Marin’s new book details his time at Basic Combat Training and in Baghdad during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. “Resonance” is a unique combination of fiction, poetry, memoir, diary entries, and letters sent and received by Marin during his time in uniform. The 154-page book is available on Amazon in paperback format for $8.99.

Marin now lives in Cortland, New York, with his wife, Pat and his stepdaughter, Anissa. He teaches English at Cortland High School, and he is also pursuing his Master’s degree in English from Cortland State University.
