Sept. 14 Miami Fiesta schedule announced

The famous and hilariously adorable  chihuahua races are scheduled at 3 p.m. during a Saturday filled with live music, mariachi and folkorico dancers – and a waterslide, bounce house and games for kids during Miami’s annual Fiesta Sept. 14. And it’s all free, thanks to generous sponsors including the Town of Miami, Miami Genesis, Gila County Supervisors, APS, Resolution Copper, United Fund of Globe-Miami, and H.O.M.E.  Vendors are welcome to inquire about food or sales booths; forms are at Miami Town Hall, or call 928-473-4403. 
Schedule: 
9:30-10 a.m. Presentation of colors by San Carlos Veterans/Opening ceremony, and prayer, led by Mayor Angel Medina
10  a.m.– 5 p.m.  Kiddy Land Free  Waterslides & Jumpy Castle
10-11 a.m.  Power Elite Dance Group led by dance instructor Tina McCarey
11 a.m.-12 p.m.  Music by Robert Otero

12-1 p.m. Ballet Folkorico Del Sol,  led by dance instructor Anissa Castillo 
1-2 p.m. Mariachi Alma Mexicana from Tucson
2-2:30 p.m. Music by DJ Paul Montolla/dance contest for youth, with prizes
2:30-3:30 p.m. Mariachi Alma Mexicana from Tucson
3-4 p.m.  Chihuahua Races
3:30-5 p.m. Music by Paloma Latin Sounds from Mesa
5-6 p.m.  Gus Park’s pitch-perfect Tribute to Elvis 
6-7 p.m. Music by Fiesta Committee
7-10 p.m. Street Dance with music by Imagine/Grand March
9:30 p.m.  Winner Announced for 50/50 Raffle
