With great sadness the family of Louis D. Avila announces the passing of Louis on Feb. 2, 2023 at his home in Sierra Vista, Az. Louis was preceded in death by his parents Hortencia Avila and Gilbert Avila, brother Gilbert Avila (Nedo), sister Gloria Serrano (Pulley) and nephew Christopher R. Toscano. Louis was born on April 21, 1945 in Claypool, Az. Louis attended schools in Globe, and was a proud Globe High School graduate. Upon graduation in 1963, he served in the United States Marine Corps. Louis worked for the City of Flagstaff. He moved to Sierra Vista and drove a military bus on Fort Huachuca base for the troops in training. After many years of driving he retired. He is survived by his wife Myrna Avila of 42 years, daughter Ana Avila, son Albert Avila, sister Rosemary A. Toscano (Vivi), brother Johnny Boy Serrano II, and many loving family members and friends. He will be laid in the family plot with Military Honors at Valley of the Sun Cemetery in Chandler, Az. on Friday, April 21, 2023.
